Dr. Christopher Allen

Dr. Allen is a native of Coldwater, Michigan. He completed his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University in 2004 and his D.D.S. degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2008. Dr. Allen completed a General Practice Residency at the John D. Dingell Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan in 2009. During this time, Dr. Allen furthered his education and training in the various dental disciplines – ultimately solidifying his decision to pursue the specialty of endodontics. In 2009, Dr. Allen returned full time to academia and completed a two-year residency, receiving his certificate in endodontics and Masters degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2011.

A mentor once told Dr. Allen the most important decision he will make in his career is deciding where to raise his family. Knowing that Michigan would always be home, Dr. Allen could not think of a better place than Traverse City. Dr. Allen and his family moved to Traverse City after graduation and founded Shoreline Endodontics, PC in 2011.

Dr. Allen lectures to his peers at local and regional meetings and at the Dental Assisting program at Northwestern Michigan College. He is a Resort District Dental Society leader and a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists and the Michigan Association of Endodontists. Dr. Allen is currently pursuing Diplomate status with the American Board of Endodontics, a voluntary achievement in the specialty of endodontics awarded to those displaying exceptional knowledge, skill and expertise.

Dr. Allen enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, a good Petoskey stone hunt, water sports, traveling, and Michigan State football.

Dr. MacDonald was born and raised in Portage, Michigan. He attended Kalamazoo College for his undergraduate education where he also played for the varsity soccer team. Dr. MacDonald completed his D.D.S. degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2015. Upon completion of dental school, Dr. MacDonald attended Marquette University for his certificate in endodontics and Masters degree.

Northern Michigan has always been a second home to Dr. MacDonald as his wife was raised in Harbor Springs. Dr. MacDonald and his wife have dreamt of moving to northern Michigan and are excited the opportunity at Shoreline Endodontics has brought them “home.” They recently added a baby girl to their family; introducing her to all their favorite attractions in this area has been an enjoyable pastime.

Jen is a Registered Dental Assistant and has worked as an Office Manager for Shoreline Endodontics since its inception in 2011. Jen enjoys the opportunity to provide patients with an enjoyable experience from the moment they call the office to schedule an appointment. She is known for her ability to smile through the phone and will often be your first point of contact at our office. Jen has a naturally positive attitude and warm demeanor - a born team leader. Jen puts the “fun” in root canal!

When not at the office, Jen’s passion is with animals, mainly dogs. She has two of her own as well as two cats. Jen spends her free time working at a local boarding facility. She enjoys spending time with her husband and brother-in-law whom they have welcomed into their home. Together, they enjoy sports, fishing and spending time at their family cottage.

Chelsea received her Registered Dental Assisting license in 2009 and has been with Shoreline Endodontics since 2011. While Chelsea began her career as a dental assistant, she quickly learned her niche was in the administrative aspect of dentistry. Since 2011, Chelsea has been a Patient and Financial Coordinator at Shoreline Endodontics. Chelsea will tell you her area of expertise is insurance billing and providing treatment estimates, however, what we enjoy most about Chelsea is her ability to make everyone laugh.  She ensures patients are comfortable and leave happy.

Outside of the office, Chelsea enjoys spending time with her husband and five children. She is her family’s biggest cheerleader at their numerous sporting events throughout the year. She also enjoys camping, skiing and the beach.

Charlie is the friendly voice you will hear when calling our Cadillac location, and the welcoming face you will see when you visit us there. "I love working at Shoreline Endodontics because it feels like a second family, and I am inspired each day by the entire team’s dedication to top-notch patient care." Charlie is a native of “down state” Michigan but spent many family vacations skiing in Northern Michigan as a child. Charlie’s academic pursuits took him out west. He returned to Northern Michigan to be near family and is happy to finally call Traverse City home.

Outside of work, Charlie enjoys skiing, mountain biking, fly fishing, and triathlons. He is passionate about the environment and the numerous water resources Michigan has to offer. Charlie frequently volunteers for local non-profits. His favorite hobby is spending time with his niece and nephews.

Alma joined Shoreline Endodontics as a dental assistant in 2017. She works primarily at our Cadillac satellite office. Alma's background is in hospitality and travel, but she has always been intrigued by dentistry. When an opportunity to work in endodontics was presented to her, she eagerly accepted. We have been impressed by Alma's hard work and dedication since her first day on the job. Alma is a self-directed learner, which has quickly helped her hone her assisting skills. This coupled with her pleasant and attentive personality make her a joy to work with.

Fishing and golfing are two of Alma's favorite pastimes - both of which she enjoys doing with her husband and son.

Emma joined Shoreline Endodontics in 2017 as a Registered Dental Assistant. She is a proud graduate of Northwestern Michigan College. We first met Emma during her internship. Emma's friendly nature and contagious smile were a natural fit for our work family.
