TEAM VISION

Our team is committed to making Shoreline Endodontics the premier choice for endodontic care and professional development. We are on a continual journey of excellence to achieve this mission. Our practice is warm, welcoming, and comfortable, which provides a safe environment for patients and staff alike. We value words and actions that are honest and build trust. We honor individuality, empower people through open and sincere communication, and strive to earn the confidence and loyalty of every person we serve. We encourage each other to be the best version of ourselves. Our office is fun; we laugh, celebrate and enjoy.

The positive atmosphere we provide starts with a smile through the phone and ends with a warm good-bye. We prepare, love to learn, and are present in the moment. Our patients leave with no doubt in their mind that they just received the best endodontic care possible. Our reputation of being gentle, safe, and caring will attract patients from doctors who share the same values.

At Shoreline Endodontics, we enjoy each day to the fullest - a contagious energy that makes a difference in the lives we touch.

Dr. Christopher Allen

“My interest and enthusiasm for the field of endodontics was sparked early on in dental school and has only grown stronger since. I do love what I do! I have found that the real joy I experience from endodontics comes from the personal connection with others – my wonderful patients and their incredible referring doctors – and being part of a treatment team of dental professionals all working together to achieve optimum oral health for you. It is a satisfying feeling to relieve someone of pain and help them maintain a tooth that contributes to their overall health and wellbeing. Shoreline Endodontics is the culmination of my experience and training, but most importantly, it is a practice built on strong communication, compassion, and relationships. I promise to treat you as an individual in an unhurried, focused, and gentle way.”

Dr. Allen is a native of Coldwater, Michigan. He grew up working in an old-fashioned root beer stand owned by his family for more than 30 years. His time working at Allen’s Root Beer Drive-In formed the foundation for his work ethic and core values as a future business owner. His family often jokes that his attention to detail and strong desire for technical excellence were evident at 14 years old by his commitment to delivering a precisely stacked, perfectly swirled ice cream cone. An achievement that continues to bring him great pride today! While Allen’s Root Beer Drive-In is no longer the family business, that same comforting feeling of family, in a warm environment, is what we like to call the “Shoreline Experience.”

Dr. Allen completed his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University in 2004 and received his D.D.S. degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2008. Dr. Allen completed a General Practice Residency at the John D. Dingell Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan in 2009. During this time, Dr. Allen furthered his education and training in the various dental disciplines but focused the majority of his training in endodontics. In 2009, Dr. Allen returned full-time to academia and completed a two-year residency, receiving his certificate in endodontics and a Masters degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2011.

A mentor once told Dr. Allen the most important decision he will make in his career is deciding where to raise his family. Knowing that Michigan would always be home, Dr. Allen could not think of a better place than northern Michigan. Dr. Allen and his family moved to Traverse City after graduation and founded Shoreline Endodontics in 2011.

Dr. Allen enjoys sharing his passion for endodontics with his peers and has hosted various lectures at local dental society meetings and study clubs. He is also proud to serve as a guest lecturer for the dental assisting program at Northwestern Michigan College. He is a Resort District Dental Society leader and a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, and the Michigan Association of Endodontists.

When he isn’t practicing dentistry, Dr. Allen enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, a good Petoskey stone hunt, boating, water sports, traveling, hockey, and Michigan State football.

Dr. Jennifer Barrord

Dr. Barrord grew up in Middletown, OH. She received her undergraduate degree from The College of Wooster in 2015 and her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from Case Western Reserve School of Dental Medicine in 2018. Dr. Barrord then stayed in Cleveland for an additional two years of schooling to complete her specialty training in endodontics. She received her Masters degree and Certificate of Endodontics from Case Western Reserve in 2020.

While in dental school, Dr. Barrord completed research in collaboration with the endodontics department. It was then that she fell in love with the practice and art of root canal therapy. She was drawn not only to the finesse and intricacies of treatment but also to the opportunity to really help people, especially those in pain. "Nothing is more rewarding to me than helping patients save their natural teeth while alleviating pain in the process. It is my utmost goal to offer a comfortable environment while providing gentle care to my patients."

Dr. Barrord is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontics, Michigan Dental Association, and Michigan Association of Endodontics. In her free time, Dr. Barrord loves trying out new recipes, oil painting, staying active, and boating.

Dr. Jeffrey Haag

Dr. Haag attended Michigan State University before entering the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry, and received his D.D.S. degree in 1994. During dental school, Dr. Haag accepted a scholarship and committed to three years of service in the United States Navy. Over the course of five years in the U.S. Navy, Dr. Haag completed an Advanced General Dentistry program; served as the Dental Officer on board the Amphibious Assault Ship, USS New Orleans; and served at the Naval Dental Center San Diego, where he developed an interest in endodontics.

Following the completion of his endodontic Masters program at the University of Michigan, Dr. Haag worked in a group endodontic practice in southeastern Michigan and continued to teach part-time at the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry. Dr. Haag and his wife were raised in Manistee, MI, and decided to return to northern Michigan in 2003. Dr. Haag joined the team at Shoreline Endodontics in 2017.

Dr. Haag is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, past president of the Resort District Dental Society, and has served on the Michigan Board of Dental Specialty Examiners. Dr. Haag enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. Together, they seek opportunities to enjoy the beauty of this region – fishing, skiing, and mountain biking. Dr. Haag also plays the guitar and piano.

Jen

Jen is a registered dental assistant and has worked as the office manager for Shoreline Endodontics since its inception in 2011. Delivering outstanding customer service has always been an essential part of a day's work for Jen. She is responsible for all office procedures and uses her organizational skills to ensure smooth operations in a busy work environment. "Shoreline Endodontics is a unique company because several of our team members have worked together for many years. That bond, sharing a common vision for excellence, takes teamwork to a higher level." Jen relishes the opportunity to exceed expectations. She cares about your satisfaction every step of the way.

When not at the office, Jen’s hobbies are physical fitness, empowering women to lead a healthy lifestyle, and playing with her two dogs. Jen cherishes spending time with her daughter and husband. Together, they enjoy sports, fishing, and making memories at their family cottage.

Chelsea

Chelsea received her Registered Dental Assisting license in 2009 and has been with Shoreline Endodontics since 2011. While Chelsea began her career as a dental assistant, she quickly learned her niche was in the administrative aspect of dentistry. Since 2011, Chelsea has been a front desk coordinator at Shoreline Endodontics. Chelsea will tell you her area of expertise is dental insurance, however, what we enjoy most about Chelsea is her ability to make everyone laugh.  She ensures patients are comfortable and leave happy.

Outside of the office, Chelsea enjoys spending time with her husband and five children. She is her family’s biggest cheerleader at their numerous sporting events throughout the year. She also enjoys camping, skiing, and the beach.

Janice

Janice has over 30 years of experience working in the dental field and thoroughly enjoys her role at the front desk; an opportunity to build relationships with patients and referring offices. Janice is affectionately referred to as Aunt Janice in the office because of her warm demeanor and caring nature. She will make you feel like family upon her first "hello"!

Janice recently relocated to Northern Michigan from California. She is looking forward to spending her free time enjoying Lake Michigan and exploring the Upper Peninsula. Hiking, biking, and cherishing sunsets are some of her favorite pastimes.

Denise

Denise has always enjoyed working with the public and has had the pleasure of serving the community in different medical offices for over 20 years. We are grateful to have met Denise and cannot get enough of her positive energy and zest for life. We often catch her enthusiastically waving at patients before they even get to the front door. Denise looks forward to meeting you and will help in any way she can to make your experience a great one.

Denise was born and raised in Leelanau county. Denise and her husband are the proud owners of Schlueter Fruit Farm, which has been in their family for 102 years. They raised two successful children, and they have recently become grandparents. She enjoys activities such as hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking, boating, snowmobiling, and spending time with her family and friends, especially at their property in the Upper Peninsula.

Jaymie

Jaymie finds it fulfilling to connect with people and help them in their time of need. Getting to do that daily as a dental assistant is something Jaymie does not take for granted. Jaymie has a lot of natural qualities that make her an outstanding dental assistant, but her optimism and witty humor are our favorites. She cares for her teammates as much as her patients and makes it her goal that your experience with her is a memorable one.

Outside of work, you can often find Jaymie on the pickleball court with her husband. She appreciates a good treasure hunt: morel mushrooms in the spring and rock hunting in the summer. She enjoys kayaking the beautiful rivers of northern Michigan and hiking in the woods, especially with her son by her side.

Kristina

Kristina has been a dental assistant since 2016. Her smile is infectious and brightens everyone’s day. Patients spend a lot of time laughing in Kristina’s presence, and they often comment about how her friendly nature is comforting and reassuring. We feel very fortunate Kristina is part of the Shoreline family.

Kristina is a natural-born cheerleader both on and off the field. She approaches life enthusiastically and loves to have fun. She cheers for her husband as he coaches both JV and varsity football, and she officiates cheerleading. She has two beautiful daughters. As a family, they look for opportunities to kayak, snowboard, golf, and travel.

Mitzy

Mitzy is a native of Traverse City. She is a graduate of the dental assisting program at Northwestern Michigan College and has over twenty-six years of experience assisting endodontics specifically. Dedication, reliability, and a strong work ethic are just a few of the qualities that define her.  Mitzy’s calming nature is conducive to a relaxed and comfortable patient experience.

Mitzy loves to hunt for morel mushrooms in the spring and enjoys spending time with her family camping, fishing, and hiking.

Casey

Casey came to our practice with a passion to learn something new within her experience of dentistry. She has worked in the dental and medical field her entire career with a background as a cardiac nurse assistant to being a dental assistant in general dentistry. She has a kind and gentle heart for those who are in discomfort. She has an easy going personality and caring for others is her passion. She and her husband have six children and family dogs, Daisy and Duke. They enjoy their small hobby farm while being outdoors. They find themselves kayaking, boating, camping, hiking and fishing as a family.

Halee

Halee has been a dental assistant since 2014 and joined our practice in 2022. Additionally, she dedicates her time as a figure skating coach at Centre Ice Arena here in Traverse City. She spends time with her husband Derrek and loyal pup doing Northern Michigan hobbies like fly fishing and hiking. She enjoys gardening and being with her friends. Since moving to Michigan in 2020, her motto has been to "take Michigan for everything it has to offer by looking for new adventures." She provides exceptional care for our patients with her calm demeanor and ensures their experience to be great.

Angie

Angie came to us with a background in customer service and administration. She was looking for a career change that aligned with her experience and she was intrigued by dentistry. It was clear from our first interaction that Angie's fun and attentive personality, along with her commitment to customer service, would be a great fit for dental assisting. She has not proven us wrong since that interview! Angie is a self-directed learner and strives for excellence, honing her dental assisting skills in a remarkable amount of time. Most importantly, though, Angie's patients love her as much as we do.

Angie enjoys spending time with her husband and four children at the beach, going boating, kayaking, and fishing. She looks forward to the summer and fall seasons most and never gets tired of the beautiful sunrises and sunsets of northern Michigan.

Becky

Becky is driven and hard-working both at work and in life. She has a background in healthcare - patient care, specifically - which made for a smooth transition to chair-side assisting. Compassionate patient care is undoubtedly her calling. Patients find that Becky's light-hearted, bubbly personality puts them at ease. We are lucky to have her on Team Shoreline.

In her spare time, Becky enjoys gardening, drawing, and caring for all breeds of dogs. A perfect day includes spending time with her friends and family, boating, rock hunting, hiking, playing sports, or just relaxing on the beach.

Tammy

Tammy has taken pride for over 20 years in caring for patients as a dental assistant. She is a graduate of the dental assisting program at Delta College. She has blessed our patients with her caring nature since the summer of '22. You'll primarily see her smile in our Cadillac office.
